This Privacy Policy explains what data Farm OS collects, why, and what we do (and don't do) with it. We built Farm OS to help you run your farm, not to build an advertising profile on you — we don't sell your data to third parties, and we never will.
To create an account, we collect your email address and a password, handled through our authentication provider (Supabase Auth) — we never see or store your raw password. If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your billing details directly; we only receive your subscription status and plan tier, never your full card number.
Everything else in Farm OS is data you choose to enter: property details, crop and livestock records, inventory, equipment, expenses, tasks, and anything you post to the farmer network feed.
We share data only with the infrastructure providers required to run Farm OS: our authentication and database provider (Supabase) and our payment processor (Stripe). We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your data with third parties for advertising or any other purpose. Content you post to the farmer network feed is visible to other Farm OS users by design — that's the point of the feed — but it is never sold or shared outside the app.
If you set coordinates on a property, we send them to the National Weather Service (NOAA) to fetch local forecast data for the Weather page. NOAA doesn't receive any other information about you or your farm.
Your data is stored in a Postgres database with row-level security policies that restrict every table so a user can only read and write their own farm data (network feed posts are the intentional exception — see above). Access to the database is scoped per request to your authenticated session.
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you want your account and its data deleted, contact us at the address below and we'll remove it, subject to any records we're required to retain for billing/tax purposes.
You can update your account email and password from Settings inside the app at any time, and view or change your subscription from the Billing page. See our Data export page for the current status of self-service data export.
If we make a material change to this policy, we'll update the “last updated” date at the top of this page.
